So why the heck did you roll the warrior class if you refuse to tank? Before all you warriors get your panties in a twist, I'm not saying you have to do nothing but tank or that you have to tank for PuGs, but even for your own guild?!?!
Last night a group of 4 of us in my guild were looking for a tank for 30 minutes to run BM and we had two warriors on who were both fury and refused to come tank for us. What kind of crap is that!?! Even with the buffs to pally's and druids you still rolled the premiere tanking class in the game and you refuse to use it even for guildmates? I just don't get it.
I know you want to be arms for PvP or fury for PvE DPS, but is it so bad to tank once in awhile?
Before you all say, roll a tank yourself, I have a 70 feral druid (needed the run for my hunter) and have an up and coming 62 warrior. I did end up having to tank the run on my druid for my guildmates and then one of them had to jump on his alt warrior to tank a second run simply because our 'tank's wanna be fury and OMGDPS! UGGG!!!
think a few things are part of this.
1) tanks and healers can get groups anytime they want for any place they want. Gearing out my healers and tanks is always really easy (My paladin and druid are tank and my shaman and priest are healers).
2) Warriors are so limited if they go protection. A feral druid can dps well on a single target for when not in a group where a protection warrior can do garbage. Protectino paladins are bad for soloing but can do it better wtih dps gear. I kill slow but can take 6-8 melee mobs at once with no problem so it ends up in the end being a decent clip.
3) Having people be able to have two specs would be awesome instead of having to respec at 50g a pop.. Most of the warriors in our raiding guild pay 100g a week to spec for pvp and then respec to tank. That is a good bit of coin to do that every week. People would have to go to the trainer or somebody to flop specs so they could nto do it mid instance but maybe that would not even bad as long as they coulnd not switch mid fight.
4) Why tank for pugs? When I do want to do a run as a tank I can screen who comes with a lot more then when I am on a dps class. As a rogue, you go with whoever will take you. As a tank you go wtih what you want.
